Staff, residents and relatives at St Martha’s recently celebrated Care Home Open Day.
Residents, their friends and families, and St Martha’s staff all joined in the activities, which included singing and karaoke. As luck would have it, it was a gloriously sunny day, which made everyone even more cheerful!
A special celebration cake was made, which everyone tucked into with great relish.
The day was all about celebrating caring, so it was the perfect time to present staff member Maria Zulfiqar her certificate for Employee of the Month and a voucher to spend.
Maria made a lovely speech, saying that care was started by Florence Nightingale and Mother Theresa, and to be a good carer you need the 6 C’s: Care, Compassion, Commitment, Courage, Communication and Competence. Nicely put, Maria!
