To mark the occasion our residents/families and staff will be making some beautiful white paper magnolia flowers (the symbol for dignity) with these we are making our very own Dignity Trees, expressing thoughts of dignity on the back of the paper flower which will be placed on our tree, also some table decoration will be for our digni-tea party.
Throughout the week a different flower will be displayed in the home, each of which with a different meaning.
Blue Iris - faith and hope
White Chrysanthemum - truth & trust
Daffodils - respect
Yellow Roses - friendship
Red Roses – confidentiality
Add these meaning altogether in our pot to make up our very own dignity tree.
Vases of these flowers will also been on display throughout the home. Our activities team and residents will use their creative skills to carefully design and create beautiful cakes to complement the different flowers.
Reminiscence Sessions with the residents, giving them a chance to reflect and remember significant events in their lives and hopefully much fun will be added.
